Guest Post: Escape to Santorini
I'm so excited to have Sarah from Note to Self guest posting for me today - I'm a big admirer of her blog and her design work. I've been dreaming of going to Greece for a very long time and Sarah's post has me longing to go big time!
Hello everyone, Sarah of Note to Self here. While Alex takes a well-deserved vacation, let's dream up our own global adventure, shall we?
This teeny, tiny Greek island holds some of my favorite travel memories. If I had the chance (and an outlandish budget) to go back, here's what I would take with me, and what I'd do once I got there...
SUNBATHE: The island is home to many spectacular beaches, including a rare "red beach." Also open to the public: volcanic hot springs and plenty of cliff-side hotel pools. Bring on the sun! Eugenia Kim hemp-blend fedora, Net-A-Porter ($240) Loures Bow Bikini, Anthropologie ($98-$128) Alice, Princess Andrew of Greece by Hugo Vickers, Amazon ($5+) Drawstring duffle bag, Gap ($60) T Kees flip flops, Calypso Saint Barth ($55)
SIGHTSEE: Santorini is thought by many to be the original location of Atlantis itself and has enough beautiful ancient ruins to make you start to wonder, too. Ralph Lauren scarf, FarFetch ($85) Eyelet tank, Calypso Saint Barth ($145) Cross-body bag, TopShop ($60) Co-Ord Fluid shorts, TopShop ($70) Converse Dainty sneaker, Piperlime ($50)
SAVOR: A sunset view, local olive oil, wine and Greek cuisine? Yes, please. Arabella V-neck dress, Tibi ($675) Brass triangle earrings, The Vamoose ($19) Patina brass cuff, Urban Outfitters ($158) Madea flat, Ancient Greek Sandals ($250)
Happy travels, Alex! Thanks for having me. x
