Unintentionally took a little break from the blog, but I’m back! We recently went back to New York City for a week and it was so nice to see family & friends and go back to some of our favorite spots. While we enjoyed our time there, we’re so happy to be back in LA and it feels comforting to be feeling at home here.
Here’s a little snippet into what I’ve been up to recently…
Gardening
If you follow me on instagram, then you have likely seen that I’ve been gardening like crazy! We got our raised bed all set up and ready to plant out vegetables and flowers soon—once they’re hardened off and ready to be outside full time. I’m obsessed with our willow edging and obelisk and can’t wait to see it covered in plants so soon! It’s been so fun to grow plants from seed and watch them grow, I’ve been learning so much and have definitely made some mistakes, but it’s been a really fun learning experience.
Shopping
I just purchased two of these Daughters of India dresses (instagram advertising got me!). The pattern is so beautiful—can’t wait to see them in person! I got the Sahana Dress in ‘Coffee’ and ‘Sky’.
Planning
I’ve finally started making more progress on the interior of our home after months of necessary, but invisible updates! We unfortunately have a slight texture on all our walls and ceilings and really want smooth walls before we start painting. So, we’re in the midst of getting quotes for skim coating ($$) and starting to figure out paint colors and fabrics—my favorite part! I’m so inspired by the above project by Disc Interiors and am using it as inspiration for our space. I’ve also fallen in love with this wallpaper by Lake August and want to use it in our hallway to bring some personality and a hint of color. We’ll be mixing neutrals, browns and blues in our living room/dining room and the hint of blue in the hallway will feel so nice near it!
Coveting
My incredibly chic friend, Hayley, launched her namesake brand, Hayley Bridget, and I’m coveting every piece! The collection consists of essential pieces that you can mix and match and wear endlessly. She also has a spinoff, Hay’s General Store, where she sells my favorite masks, pearl necklaces and more.
Watching
Gardener’s World recently returned and I couldn’t be more excited. I have loved watching this show over the past year and have learned so much from Monty. For the return of the show, the New York Times did a wonderful feature on Monty Don and I was lucky enough to be quoted in the article! If you are thinking of getting into gardening, or just looking for a relaxing show, I highly recommend checking out Gardener’s World or any of Monty’s shows. His writing garden (pictured above) is a big inspiration for one of the flowers beds I’m planning in our backyard.
Selling
Having a little closet cleanout sale on my Depop shop!
