Vintage Frames
I get a lot of questions about the framed photobooth strips on my nightstand, and in particular, where I got the frame, so I wanted to share the details & some places for buying frames.
The frame itself is a vintage frame that I picked up many, many years ago at the Brooklyn Flea. I love using vintage frames instead of buying new because they have so much more character and interest. Flea markets and antique fairs are a great place to buy frames—they are so much more affordable than new frames. I’ve been searching a lot on Etsy these days and came across some frames similar to mine (see below) and other great vintage frames.
I got the idea to frame photobooth film strips from a home tour I had seen and wanted to recreate in our home. We love popping into photobooths when we see them and have so many strips from over the years. I picked two of my favorites and then simply taped them onto the mat (which came with the frame) using double-sided tape. Et voilà! Super simple and easy.
On Grant’s side of the bed, I framed one of our favorite wedding photos (I used Artifact Uprising—I love their quality) in a vintage frame. The frame is on the larger side so I centered the photo within the mat—I love the negative space around the photo.
If vintage frames aren’t your thing or you have a particular size in mind, Framebridge has a super similar frame called ‘Providence’.
