Black-Owned Businesses
In light of everything going on in our country and world, I decided to take a pause on my own content in order to support and stand in solidarity with the Black community. I’ve spent the last two weeks listening, reading, watching, learning and beginning to have hard conversations with those around me. I don’t have all the answers, but I am committed to putting in the work to be better and do better.
In thinking and reflecting on what I can do in this space, I want to continue to highlight new brands and people who are inspiring to me, and will be focused on making sure what I’m sharing is inclusive and diverse. I’m already so excited by the new brands and creatives that I’ve discovered so far.
One (of many) actions I’m taking is supporting and purchasing from Black-owned businesses. I shared a small round up on Instagram and wanted to expand upon it here. Some of these are brands I’ve purchased from and have loved for a long time, and others are new to me. I hope you are inspired to check them out!
Many of these brands are small independent businesses / makers and as you can imagine, they’ve been overwhelmed with recent orders. They may have sold out of their products, but I highly recommend following them on Instagram or signing up for their newsletters so you can be alerted when they’ve restocked!
