Home Decor Updates
With all the time we’re spending at home, I’m sure I’m not alone in focusing a lot of my energy into sprucing up our space! I’ve become even more appreciative of our home and the space we’ve created. We’ve lived in our apartment for 8 years (!) and while there are a lot of big things I’d like to change, I’m choosing to focus on changing out little things that we can take with us into future homes.
Here are some of the updates we’ve been making…
We recently switched over our bedding for summer and it feels nice to switch things up! We love using this lightweight quilt (we have it in ‘Fog’) during the summer months and I recently moved this throw onto the foot of our bed and I love how it ties all the tones together. This cozy alpaca throw is super luxurious and is another one of my favorite recent additions (20% off with code ALEX20).
I get a lot of questions about our long striped pillow, which is from Magic Linen, one of our favorite home brands that we discovered last year. We also have their linen sheet set, which we love, especially during the summer. Their quality is really amazing and the fabric gets softer with each wash.
Scented candles are a mainstay in our home and the two pictured above are longtime favorites. I don’t like scents that are too overpowering and these smell great all year round. I currently have these candles on my wishlist, especially the ‘Climbing Tuscan Rosemary’ to transport me back to time in Italy! Highly recommend picking up a candle wick trimmer to keep your wicks short and a cleaner burn.

If you follow me on instagram, you likely saw that we did a big kitchen clean out a few weeks ago. We really pared back to the pieces we truly love and get a lot of use out of. We got rid of so much excess and it feels so good for everything to be organized and have a home. We even finally put some of our baking ingredients into jars!
A new favorite in our kitchen are these cane-wrapped glasses. They truly make you feel like you’re on vacation somewhere, even if you’re just drinking water—it’s the little things these days! We got rid of some older glasses so now I’m on the hunt for some new tall glasses and am considering these and these. I’m also considering buying the taller version of our cane-wrapped glasses since we love them so much!
As we were going through our cabinets, I made a list of pieces we needed to replace and am now on the hunt for better options that we’ll keep for a long time. I highly recommend doing this so that you aren’t impulse buying things, but instead investing in pieces you love.
