October Favorites
I’ve been so envious of all the fall photos I’m seeing from my friends and family on the east coast! We had a couple days of fall-like weather here in LA and was so happy to break out some of my fall favorites. Here are the pieces I loved during October…
MASSIMO DUTTI HOUNDSTOOTH COAT
I’ve been wanting a houndstooth coat for the past few years, but they are so hard to find in brown tones. Massimo Dutti came out with this one last year and I missed out on it, so I was sure to buy it this year. I’m obsessed with it and it’s the perfect in-between coat for fall and LA winters. I’ve gotten a lot of questions about it—yes, it has pockets; no it’s not lined; I’m 5’6” and wearing a size small.
SAIE BEAUTY SLIP TINT
I’m not a big makeup wearer, but I love that all of Saie’s products are foolproof and so easy to use. They recently came out with Slip Tint, a tinted moisturizer with SPF and I decided to try as I’ve been wanting a bit more coverage some days. Slip Tint is fairly sheer, but helps even out my skintone, adds glow and protects against the sun. It was also super easy to choose my shade—I simply DM’ed them to get shade matched (I’m shade 2!).
ZOYA NAIL POLISH IN ‘Louise’
I discovered this chocolate brown shade last year and it’s my go to fall polish color. I love that it’s a true brown and isn’t too red or purple
EVERLANE ‘90s cheeky straight jean
I’ve mentioned my love for these jeans before and wanted to share again, as they are truly my go to jeans that I wear almost every day (yes, even during WFH!). They’re the equivalent of the elusive perfect vintage jean and I absolutely love the medium blue wash—it goes with everything. Plus they’re under $100! I wear my usual size in them (25).
JENNI KAYNE MULES
These are my third pair of mules from Jenni Kayne—I also have the leather mules and have a pair of the shearling ones. They add a touch of polish to any outfit and are easy to slip on and off. They’re also beautifully made of high quality materials that last for many seasons. The suede is so pretty for fall—I’m eyeing the olive green ones next. Use code ALEX20 for 20% off.
AQUIS HAIR TURBAN TOWEL
My friend recently told me about Aquis hair towels and how amazing they are at combating frizz and smoothing curls. I was obviously immediately interested and funnily enough, was folding laundry one day and noticed that Grant had an Aquis towel (that he’s had for 15 years)! I tried it the next day and was truly blown away by how smooth it made my hair! It is able to smooth my frizz in a way I’ve never experienced before, other than with a keratin treatment. I was sold immediately and quickly ordered my own towel turban for myself!
“RATTAN” BY LULU LYTLE
Rattan has become an extremely popular material in the last few years and I’ve definitely been a big fan of its resurgence. I love the natural material for the warmth and comfort it brings to any space and was eager to dive into this new book by Soane Britain all about the material. While I’m a big fan of the aesthetic of rattan, I’m also super interested in learning about its history and how items are made of it, and this book goes into excellent detail on both. It’s filled with an enormous amount of inspiring rattan-accented interiors too!
