Weekend Getaway

Weekend getaways are, in my opinion, one of the best parts of summer. There are so many great places within a few hours drive from NYC, and upstate New York is quickly becoming one of my favorite destinations. The Hudson Valley is full of unique small towns, each with its own sensibility.

I'm excited to announce that I've teamed up with onefinestay, and am heading to the Hudson Valley this weekend with a group of friends as an early birthday trip! onefinestay is an amazing resource of homes you can rent throughout select cities across the world. They are founded on the idea of handmade hospitality, so each home is well-appointed with everything you could possibly need.

And what would a weekend getaway be without a packing list?

The key to packing for any weekend getaway is a great bag that can fit all your essentials without breaking your back. The Catalina Weekender by Lo & Sons is my weekend bag of choice (Grant's is the Everlane Weekender)—I especially love the bottom compartment for shoes so they don't dirty the rest of your clothes!

Minimal clothing is needed because you'll be in your bikini most of the time, anyway! I always pack a pair of jean shorts, a few striped tees, an oversized button down and something special—like this chambray romper.

A few accessories are all you need—a sun hat, sunglasses and a pair of espadrilles. Of course, a witty beach towel doesn't hurt and a camera to capture all the fun!
