NYC Staycation
This past Friday, Grant and I spontaneously decided to do a staycation here in the city. We had been toying with the idea for awhile, and when The Standard launched their new app, One Night Standard, and had $99/night rooms, we jumped at the chance to make our idea a reality!
We opted for a room at The Standard High Line over their East Village location so we could explore a different part of our city that we don't often get over to. After work, I ran home and quickly packed us a bag and headed to the hotel. Our room was perfect, with views of the High Line and the rest of the city.
We took the opportunity to get a little dressed up and went to dinner at a little Italian spot nearby and then had drinks at the hotel. On Saturday we got up and had brunch at The Standard Grill (order the cinnamon-sugar donuts!) and spent the afternoon wandering around the West Village. The neighborhood was buzzing with the reopening of the Whitney Museum so we stopped by to check that out.
I highly, highly recommend trying out a staycation - it seriously felt like a true vacation, even though it was just for a night!
